About
Coming in 2010, JournalLocal is a new hyperlocal platform for journalists and active citizens alike to create their own community web site.
Launched by Philip John, the technical brains behind respected hyperlocal The Lichfield Blog, the service will benefit from his experience of hyperlocal but also close to a decade of experience working on the web.
JournalLocal will offer three editions;
- Community
- Premium
- Professional
The free community edition will give community groups the opportunity to create their own WordPress blog but with specially selected features to help them better manage their hyperlocal site.
While the premium and professional additions will provide more features and better themes for the serious hyperlocal site owner. Premium adds additional themes more suited to news-focused sites, as well as complementary features.
The pro version is aimed primarily at existing journalists creating their own hyperlocal site, or any site for that matter. It gives ultimate flexibility allowing any theme or plugin with great support.
Keep an eye on the blog for updates!
