Today I saw a really good gathering of London hyperlocals on the bank of the Thames.
They called, as so many have done before them, for a continuance of the conversations they started today. As I mentioned at the end of the day I’ll launch the “Hyperlocal Hub” soon which will be an online tool for conversing, sharing ideas, experiences and collaborating.
But I wanted to suggest that Hyperlocal cafés are set up by those running their own sites. They should seek to pull together hyperlocal site owners within a region to talk to each other on a regular basis offline, in a café that’s convenient.
Run on a regular basis, such as once a month these could help to carry on those conversations and make more progress can be done than a one-day conference every so often. They could last for an hour or two in the morning, or run in the evenings – it’s up to the organisers.
All you need is a venue and willing participants.
Ready? Set? Go!
Or do you think it’s a really bad idea?

Hi Phillip, brilliant idea. Annette
Great idea. Hope we can get one going in SE London. Just need to find some really good venues for converations (so many places are really too noisy…) In SE London one possible venue is Locale on East Dulwich Road SE22. Good for conversations. Any other suggestions?
