There’s a few widgets around that are helpful to hyperlocal widgets. Following on from a few tweets this afternoon, this post is an effort to put together a list of these in one place. This is just the start so please suggest more in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.
Widgets for WordPress (self-hosted)
- Ratemyplace
- TheyWorkForYou.com (and the Australian version based on OpenAustralia)
- WriteToThem.com
- GroupsNearYou.com
- Opening Times
Blogger/Blogspot
- OpenlyLocal Google gadget (also works on iGoogle)
Non-platform specific widgets

Patient Opinion’s widget will show you what people are saying about services in your area. For example:
http://www.haltonlink.org.uk/opinions-from-people-in-halton
It doesn’t work in WordPress (uses an iframe). Anyone want to help us develop one?
Yes, of course, thanks James – link added. Thanks for the reminder to sort out a WordPress widget…!
Not sure if you’re including ones for blogger/blogspot but the OpenlyLocal google gadget can be installed on blogger or blogspot blogs (as well as iGoogle home page, of course):

Thanks Chris, I’ve added that and also the note about iGoogle!
